Topic Discussion 2 - Ong Yen Xiang

Are you aware of this?

I never aware of the Facebook’s privacy issue until I read the article. My thought is refreshing some of the new function added by the Facebook recently which I felt got no privacy also. The function of seen the chatbox, Facebook’s chatbox can let the user know is someone seen the chatbox had been sent. I felt this is really no privacy because even I either I seen the chatbox or not, people will know it. This function gave convenience to people but somehow still give troublesome to people.

Would you still stay on Facebook after knowing this?

Yes, I will still stay in Facebook because Facebook being part of entertainment of my daily route nowadays. At least right now it is still not causing me any serious issues. But will be concern on it.

  1. yea, seriously, i hate to have this function that let the opposite user know that i have seen their massage. But on the other side when i am the one who sent the massage, then i would like to see either the person seen my massage or ignoring me. Thus, it got its pros and cons too, depends on which side are you standing ^^

    1. yea.. you are right.. it would be useful when discussing assignment/problem with friend to ensure that he/she does seen the message..
as Fui Ling said, Facebook should set a option to users for enable and disable the function.

  2. I'm agree with what Foong had mentioned, haha... Of cause you will hate the function when you don't want to reply someone message but know by the other side=( I hope Facebook can give the option to users for this function either enable or disable.

    1. haha.. yea you are right.. I hate it is not because of they know whether I had seen the message, but is it had offense my privacy..

but if this function applied in discussion is different case.. because it is a duty to let the sender know whether the message had delivery to me..

keke, fully support your point that option should be given to users to enable or disable the function.
