What is ACT114A?
Section 114A is the new amendment to the Evidence Act 1950. This amendment passed in parliament in April 2012,sec 114A deals with allegedly illicit or harmful content on the Internet. In short, the amendment enables law enforcement officials to swiftly hold someone accountable for publishing seditious, defamatory, or libelous content online.
How does ACT114A affect you?
It already affect my freedom of expression in network which mean I had to pay all the responsibility of every single post or what I said in network to avoid section 114A. For example , the famous social website Facebook, I got no more longer freedom to post any single comment to express . It already invasion freedom of speech.
Does it really matter?
Yes it does, but there is a mistake who really offend the rule,for example I set up a private network wifi in my house and there's a hacker successful hacked in my wifi without my notice or knowledge and spread out the emails or did any improper behaviour action, but according to Setion 114A, in this condition i will be caught under due to they trace back its to my private network wifi . So i'm the one innocent get caught but the hacker is still impunity, it doesn't fair and this law should be more improve on this point.
Should you be concerned?
Of cause I will be concerned about it, no doubt because I'm one of the internet user . There is still a lot improve of this 114A, It doesn't make sense when someone using your network but the penalty is go against you, it will make everyone get fear of network and i believe that this 114A already impassion a lot of user dissatisfied.
Improvement in 114A? I don't think improvement in would help alot with innocent internet users. The Act would just create fear among the people of sharing devices and internet line with their friends. Don't you think this Act should be revoked?
ReplyDeleteyea,but currently we can't prevent it,what we can do is just beware of sharing devices among your friend and remember logout the information of public pc.

ReplyDeleteDo we still having sufficient freedom from internet such as social network?
Wondering if we are discussing about this will be sue by anyone or not. haha
